So what’s it all about…
Wild Atlantic Way Yoga is a traditional Irish Farmhouse located literally on the edge of the Atlantic ocean, not only is it the very start of the Wild Atlantic Way but it’s
- a place where you too can come and work on your yoga practice,
- a place where your body will be stronger and much more flexible.
- a place where your mind will be clear and calm.
- a place where you’ll nurture your appetite with nourishing wholesome foods.
And all this time, while working on your pranayana breathing you’ll be filling your lungs with the fresh sea air of the wild Atlantic Ocean. So join us at The Farmhouse on the Old Head of Kinsale overlooking the Atlantic where you’ll wake up by the sea, the start of the Wild Atlantic Way.
When we first met "The Farmhouse" we knew instantly it was a special place and where our dream for Wild Atlantic Way Yoga could become a reality.
It's a traditional Irish Farmhouse, originally built over a hundred years ago. A stone build (typical of the time), it was brought back to life and lovingly restored at the turn of this century.
The original farmhouse hosts our country style kitchen where you can help yourself to fresh fruit and light refreshments or simply relax by the fire and enjoy the view over the Old Head onto the Atlantic Ocean.
During the restoration our double height, under-floor heated yoga extension was added. This is connected by our light filled dining area, a space where we can enjoy those lovely 2/3 course meals.
Wild Atlantic Way Yoga has a max of eight guests which allows for an intimate setting and of course an excellent yoga teacher / student ratio. Some people come on their own where we can allocate you a shared room with same sex and similar age group.
We take our food pretty seriously, so seriously in fact that Shirley did her primary degree in Food Science and Technology! It's this knowledge and passion for healthy living that has inspired us to create:
- The "Flawless Feast" a 3 course evening meal which includes some fabulous raw desserts!
- Breakfast/Brunch, which will be a combination of fruit parfaits and sunrise sandwiches!
So allow us to nourish your body, heart and soul with delicious plant based, cleansing foods.
The Old Head of Kinsale
The Old Head of Kinsale is a remarkably dramatic piece of headland near Kinsale (Co Cork, Ireland) jutting out approx 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. Described by many as a most special place, it's steeped in history (RMS Lusitania rests just 12 miles west off the old head) and the very tip of the peninsula is home to the famous "Old Head Golf Links"
The Wild Atlantic Way
The Wild Atlantic Way is the world's longest defined coastal touring route, from the Old Head of Kinsale (Co Cork) all along the western coast of Ireland to Malin Head in Co Donegal.
